ASIFA-Hollywood Now Accepting Recommendations for Special Honorary Awards

ASIFA Hollywood now accepts recommendations for the 48th Annie Awards Juried Award nominations that recognize career achievements and exceptional contributions to animation. The award ceremony is scheduled for April 16, 2021.

Applications can be submitted by Saturday, October 31st, by email at or by mail to the ASIFA Hollywood offices at 2114 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank, CA 91506. Juried Award recipients will be honored on the 48th Annie Awards for Friday, April 16, 2021.

The Board of Directors of ASIFA-Hollywood will vote for each of the Juried Award categories listed below with a two-thirds majority (2/3). You can decide at your own discretion not to award an award in any category.

"The Winsor McCay Awards are our highest honors," noted Frank Gladstone. “In fact, they were the first Annies ever given and were the only awards given in the first few years. Over time, other judged categories have been added, which has not detracted from their meaning. On the contrary, the judged categories have become an important and significant part of the annual awards. "

Judged price categories:

Winsor McCay Award:

  • In recognition of life or career contributions to the art of animation in production, directing, animation, design, writing, voice acting, technical influence, music, education or for other endeavors that make outstanding contributions to excellence in animation.

June Foray Award:

  • For someone who has made a significant and benevolent or benevolent influence in the art and industry of animation.

Ub Iwerks Award:

  • For a person or a company for a technical advance that has a significant impact on the animation art or industry.

Special Price:

  • May be awarded to an individual, individual, or company for unique and significant accomplishments between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 that are not recognized by other Annie Award categories.

Award for special merits:

  • To an individual or organization for current service to the arts, crafts, and animation industries.

The Annie Awards were founded in 1972 by the experienced language talent June Foray and in whose name the philanthropic June Foray Award was brought to life.
