Today at 12 p.m. EDT / 9 a.m. PDT / 5 p.m. BST / 6 p.m. CEST, Blackmagic Design is hosting a live event to talk about new camera updates. Will Blackmagic Design announce a new camera or just a few firmware updates for its current line of cinema and radio cameras?
Blackmagic Design Camera Update live event
With the pandemic, "traditional" trade fairs around the world were canceled. In the past five months, we at inema5D have done our best to offer you comprehensive coverage of all corporate announcements with the Kino5D Virtual Show.
In addition, more and more companies are hosting their live events on YouTube to announce new products. Indeed, Canon REIMAGINE's latest live event, which took place last week – with the launch of the Canon EOS R5, R6 and four RF lenses plus extenders – is a good example.
Of course, Blackmagic Design is not a newcomer to live events, and has been for years. For example, the company announced the advanced ATEM 2M / E and 4M / E panels for live production a week ago. I think a lot of filmmakers who saw this previous live event were a bit sad that there was no camera news.
However, Blackmagic Design is hosting a live event today at 12:00 p.m. EDT / 9:00 p.m. PDT / 6:00 p.m. CEST to talk about new developments in the camera series. This is exciting news and there are already many rumors everywhere.
Is this announcement a firmware update for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K / 6K and the URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2? Will it be an update for all studio cameras? Or will Blackmagic announce the addition of a new camera to its range? We'll find out soon.
Of course, we will bring you the latest information about this event as soon as we are authorized to do so. Stay tuned to Kino5D and in the meantime enjoy the Blackmagic Design Camera Update livestream.
