CAME-TV has just released a new 150 W two-color LED Fresnel light with high output: the CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S. This compact device has no ballast, can go from 3200 K to 5600 K with a specified CRI of 96, has DMX inputs and outputs and can be operated with V-mount / gold-mount batteries. Let's take a closer look!

CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S – characteristics

The Boltzen lights from CAME-TV have been available for a long time. Small lights like the Boltzen Q-55S discussed here. With the release of the CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S, the company is stepping up its game with a device that is almost three times as bright as its little 55 W brother.

CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S – Technical data

The CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S has a light output of 150 W. The light comes from a single COB chip and you can set the light output from 0 to 100%. No lighting information / numbers are currently available.

There is a built-in Fresnel lens in front of the lighting chip. However, there is no information on whether the Fresnel element is made of plastic or real glass.

You can adjust the flood / spot angle via a button on the side of the light. To further control your light output, the light comes with a set of removable barndoors.

You can set the color temperature from 3200K to 5600K. These numbers are below those of other devices such as B. the Aputure LS 300X, which can be between 2700K and 6500K. CAME-TV claims the F-150S's CRI is 96.

The luminaire has a built-in DC 12-24V locking power input. You can power it with V-mount / gold-mount batteries. The lamp is supplied with a P-Tap cable.

There is an LCD screen on the back of the device. Below the screen there are three controls for setting the color temperature, the DMX address and the dimming of the light. You will also find DMX inputs and outputs, two Ethernet connections, the power connection and an on / off switch.

Like the vast majority of lighting fixtures over 100 W, the CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S also has a built-in fan. The light is made of metal, which is supposed to help dissipate the heat, but I'm a little concerned about the build quality and the load it can take. We could check this light and then we will know better. The original CAME-TV Boltzens has been used in many CineD reviews over the years and still works well despite some downsides like looser barndoors.

An optional Bowens mount is available if you want to attach a softbox or other light modifier in front of the light. The F-150S contains two filters to soften the light output – a soft and a milky diffuser.

Price and availability

The CAME-TV Boltzen F-150S is available now for $ 499. In direct comparison, the Ikan Helia 150W Bi-Color is available for the same price and does not have Ethernet connection ports.
