Victories for "The Great", "Succession", "Bad Education" and more made it a banner night for shows that are not eligible for the 2021 Emmy Awards.

Thursday evening was the opportunity to celebrate the behind-the-scenes people who brought people to the screens. The Casting Society of America announced the winners of the 36th Artios Awards, recognizing the best casting efforts in feature films, television, and theater. Led by Yvette Nicole Brown, it was the organization's first virtual ceremony as Hollywood continues to make adjustments in the face of the ongoing pandemic.

It was also a big night for TV shows that take a little longer, as many of the awards went to series already competing for the 2020 Emmy Awards, meaning the winners have little or no insight into the issue become Emmy Race of the Year. Nevertheless, victories for “normal people”, “successors” and “what we do in the shadows” are always as welcome as they deserve.

On the film side, two nominees for the best picture were Artios winners, with “Minari” winning the “Low Budget – Comedy or Drama” category and “Trial of the Chicago 7” taking home the award for Big Budget – Drama.

We are very proud to congratulate the well-deserved winners and laureates of this evening, ”said Russell Boast and Rich Mento, Co-Presidents of the Casting Society of America. "CSA is relentlessly committed to promoting the conversation about recognition of all the work we do and is proud of the collective achievements of the past few years."

The CSA honored several winners at the ceremony on Thursday evening. Robi Reed and Tara Rubin received the Hoyt Bowers Award. For the first time, two recipients have received the award, and the Actors Fund received the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award.
