Maxon updates its powerful benchmarking software, Cinebench

Cinebench Release 23 provides more stable and accurate performance benchmarking for the latest generations of hardware, including M1 Macs

Friedrichsdorf, November 11, 2020 – Maxon, the leading developer of professional solutions for creating and creating 2D / 3D digital content, has just released Cinebench Release 23, an update to its industry-standard cross-platform benchmarking application that developers, analysts and users alike trust to evaluate hardware performance. Cinebench uses advanced algorithms to visualize and render a three-dimensional scene on a computer. Hardware manufacturers use Cinebench scores to optimize CPUs during the development process, and the press and consumers to rate systems.

This news follows the recent announcement that Maxon's award-winning 3D animation software, Cinema 4D, is the first professional-grade 3D animation package for Apple's new MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini, featuring the revolutionary M1, the first , is equipped in a chip family specially developed by Apple for the Mac.

"For more than a decade, Cinebench has been the ideal tool for hardware manufacturers and industry analysts to evaluate system performance," said David McGavran, Maxon chief executive officer. "Cinebench R23 provides the most accurate, stable results for the latest hardware, including the recently announced M1 Macs by Apple, and ensures users are running on the most powerful systems to create demanding content and render workloads."

Function highlights: Cinebench R23

  • Cinebench is now based on the latest Release 23 code with updated compilers and has a minimum runtime activated by default (previously hidden in the settings).
  • Cinebench R23 provides more stable and accurate results for high-performance systems and allows users to verify that the hardware is able to consistently deliver performance without throttling due to thermal issues.
  • Users now have the option to test single core performance directly without manually enabling the Advanced Benchmark option. With the "Advanced Benchmark", users can set any minimum runtimes in order to subject the hardware to a stress test for even longer periods of time.
  • Due to the code and compiler changes, the Cinebench score values will be adjusted to a new range, so they should not be compared to scores from previous versions of Cinebench.

Cinebench R23 uses the same powerful 3D engine in Cinema 4D Release 23 (Cinema 4D R23) to accurately evaluate the capabilities of CPU rendering on different systems and platforms. It is offered for free.
