DeepMotion has officially launched its 3D animation cloud service, Animate 3D, an AI-based platform that converts 2D video files into 3D animation for games, movies and other creative applications. The new platform eliminates the need for traditional mocap hardware and suits and provides simple, easily accessible whole-body motion capture that allows animations to be rotated in minutes. This greatly lowers the barrier to creating 3D animation for users ranging from amateurs to long-time industry professionals
With Animate 3D, creative ideas can capture human movement simply by uploading videos uploaded online or recorded with a personal device. With its astute AI technology, users can create and download 3D animations with custom avatars in minutes. Capturing movements is fun and easy.
The platform accepts .MP4 .MOV or .AVI files and generates high fidelity .FBX or .BVH animations. AI-supported, simple motion detection reduces development time and enables an independent production pipeline. To provide a creative visual aid, users can upload their own custom 3D characters to preview their animations and then download their animation, which has already been realigned, onto their characters. It is easier than ever to iterate quickly between the web full of video content and users able to ingest their own content and build a library of 3D motion.
“For many of us who work in the entertainment and social media industries, it is a dream come true to be able to create innovative animations using our body expressions without the need for heavy motion capture equipment and the ability to see classic human movements from the multitude extract from videos on the internet. Commented DeepMotion Founder and CEO Kevin He. “At DeepMotion, we have worked hard for the past five years to use biomechanical simulation and deep learning technologies to make this dream a reality. Now I am excited to announce that our first cloud-based service with AI, Animate 3D, has officially launched! We look forward to empowering all content creators in the world to create dynamic 3D animations of their favorite characters with just a video clip and a web browser. "
Animate 3D is easily accessible for all user levels. The service runs on any browser and doesn't require any software or hardware to start creating animations. The free introductory account allows users to find out what the service is capable of. From there, different paid tiers are available to meet the needs of all builder tiers, including API integrations.
