A feast for the eyes: the 2020 SpeedTree VFX reel

IDV has released its SpeedTree VFX Reel 2020: a two-minute compilation of the latest work created with SpeedTree Cinema, its 3D plant generation software.
It's dominated by The Lion King and the latest Star Wars films – some of the most lush examples of digital vegetation in cinema history – but also the latest films from Marvel, Jurassic World, and Transformers.
As with the latest wave of SpeedTree games, IDV has posted a full list of credits on its website, as well as links to breakdown videos of major projects.
This time around, that includes Scanline VFX's breakdown of his work on Captain Marvel and, of course, MPC's VFX breakdown of The Lion King.
And unlike the play role, there is time to soak up the beauty of the CG plants before they are blown up or run over, although there are a number of bangs, lightning bolts and plane crashes here too.
A full list of credits for the SpeedTree VFX Reel 2020 can be found on the IDV blog
