From the publication:

Directed by Doomsday Entertainment's Hiro Murai, the visually unique video is based on the sensual movements of Wushu martial arts that depict the complex relationship between the two main characters.

MPC worked closely with Murai throughout, helping create the choreographed battle sequence between buildings, epic blows through storefronts, and a dramatic final scene in which FKA twigs are cut in half with a samurai sword. Digital matte painting has also been used everywhere to build up and enhance the gritty backgrounds.

The VFX team, led by MPC's Creative Director Michael Gregory, VFX Supervisor Toya Drechsler and CG Supervisor Corinne DeOrsay helped define the epic ending sequence, including the anatomy of the post-slice part of the FKA.

Gregory commented, “We did a test shoot beforehand to see how the split would work and how to practically shoot it. We then modeled them in 3D and divided them in two from the waist up. We re-projected the live action over the split model and created a hollow shell for the CG to come up. "

He added, “It was important that the sequence wasn't bloody or bloody. instead it had to look beautiful and otherworldly. For her new inner body, we designed in 2D based on some of Hiro's keyframes and then moved on to developing the 3D look, with Hiro's original vision organically morphing into something we were all happy with. "
