Motion capture specialist Rococo has made Motion Library, its former Unity online marketplace for motion capture motion, available through Rokoko Studio, its own free software.
The functionality that is available in the new Rococo Studio 1.16 update makes 150 high-quality Mocap assets available free of charge.
A library of motion capture data from the world's leading studios
Motion Library was launched in 2018 and is a series of mocap moves recorded by studios like Audiomotion and Centroid in the UK. Their joint work includes Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Wonder Woman.
The library, which Rococo calls the "largest mocap marketplace in the world", was originally only available to Unity users via an integration plugin for the Unity editor.
Rococo has now made it possible to browse and download assets through Rococo Studio, its software for visualizing and exporting Mocap data, which is intended for use with the Smartsuit Pro inertial detection suits.
There is also a new native Maya integration plugin that ships with Maya 2020.1 and was also released today.

Although the majority of the library is made up of commercial assets that cost $ 3 or $ 6 each, 150 of the moves are available for free.
By installing Rokoko Studio 1.16, artists can browse and preview the assets in the software and then export them for use in other DCC tools.
The free movements are licensed for use in commercial projects.
New action moves from God of War stunt performer Eric Jacobus
In addition, the library now includes 50 new moves recorded by SuperAlloy Interactive's Eric Jacobus, best known for his stunt work as Kratos in God of War.
Rococo describes the new clips as "physically intense and effective movements – perfect for artists who want to give their action-oriented projects realism".
Updated: Rococo has confirmed that the moves are free for all Motion Library users, including Rokoko Studio users, although they were originally created to launch the Maya plugin.
Availability and system requirements
Rokoko Studio 1.16 is available for Windows 10 and MacOS 10.14.2+. With a free basic subscription, users can export data in FBX, BVH or CSV format.
Rokoko Studio paid subscriptions range from $ 24 / user / month to $ 119 / user / month and support integration plugins for other DCC software, including MotionBuilder, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
