Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon brings its Oscar-nominated character and narrative talents to the ongoing Greenpeace media battle to halt deforestation in this follow-up to Passion's 2018 breakout spot, Rang-tan.
The spot was produced by Mother London and voiced by Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (Pablo Escobar in the Netflix series Narcos). It shows the role of industrial meat production in the destruction of the Amazon forest.
From Greenpeace: “Greenpeace UK's release of a new analysis of the latest fire data from the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research suggests that an area almost the size of the UK was burned across Brazil this year.
“The film is supported by Meat Free Monday, Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney's campaign aimed at raising awareness of the harmful environmental effects of animal husbandry.
"In 2018, Greenpeace UK's 'Rang Tan' became internationally known when it was banned from British television screens after being deemed too political by the UK advertising agency. The viral hit explored the effects of palm oil on the Indonesian rainforests."
