No work and all pay makes Johnny a happy boy! It turns out that Johnny Depp's latest drama has at least one advantage with the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Before the actor was asked to step down from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3, he signed a pay-or-play contract that guaranteed his fee even if he was re-cast or the film was never finished. Luckily for Depp, he filmed a scene before he was fired, which means he can take a reported eight-figure salary straight home with him for doing practically no work at all. Take this, Warner Bros.!
Depp can now use his previously assigned acting time to focus on his other lawsuits against estranged ex-wife Amber Heard. With the recent spread of evidence against Heard, including audio of the actress admitting molesting DeppIt will be interesting to see whose career is ultimately tarnished more. A recent petition to Remove Heard of Aquaman 2 has garnered nearly a million signatures, which may highlight the true public opinion of the actress. Either way, the "truth" will come out!
