Kondor Blue has announced new rigging solutions specifically designed for Canon's latest mirrorless camera: the Kondor Blue Canon EOS R5 / R6 Full Cages. These cages are designed for efficiency, but there are many attachment points throughout the cage. There is also a top handle available that you can use to start / stop recording. Let's take a look!

Condor Blue Canon EOS R5 / R6 full cages

A few months ago we spoke for the first time about Kondor Blue and its rigging solutions for the Panasonic Lumix S1H. The Kondor Blue team is moving fast and has already announced a solution for the mirrorless cameras on the Canon EOS R5 / R6.

These cages are designed for speed. There is an Arca Swiss quick release system that attaches to the bottom of your camera. Then all you have to do is slide your camera into the cage and click the lever to lock it into place. There's a safety pin to keep your camera from getting out of the cage if you forget to lock the level. This system allows you to get your camera in and out of the cage quickly.

When you upgrade your camera extensively, the last thing you want is your camera wobbling in a cage. To secure your camera even better in the Kondor Blue Canon EOS R5 / R6 full cages, there is an interesting cold shoe button at the top of the cage. Once your camera is in the cage, this button will be attached to the cold shoe of your camera. The large wing nut allows you to attach the camera to the cage by screwing it into place by hand. There is even a spirit level on the wing nut. Wish is very well thought out.

If you take one cold shoe off the camera, better give users another. And Kondor Blue doesn't disappoint here, giving you a cold shoe with a safety pin on the left side of the cage.

At the bottom of the cage you will find a 3/8 "-16 and two 1/4" -20 attachment points that you can use to attach your favorite quick release plate to the cage. In front of the cage, a built-in magnetic Allen key helps you remove the Arca Swiss quick release plate from the camera.

It is important that the cages do not block any dials, buttons or openings on the camera.

The cages are made of metal and around the cage are 70 1/4 ″ -20 and 3/8 ″ -16 threaded holes as well as some ARRI standard accessory mounting points.

There is also a micro HDMI and USB Type-C cable clamp to protect the camera's connections from unwanted strain from the cables.

On the left side and the top of the Kondor Blue Canon EOS R5 / R6 full cages you will find Nato rails which you can use to quickly mount accessories / handles.

Universal handle

A bundle is available with the cages that contain the Condor Blue Universal Handle. This handle is attached to the top of the cages via a NATO rail and has 1/4 "-20 plus 3/8" -16 threaded holes on the entire handle. There are also two cold shoe mounts on the front / back of the handle and a 15mm pole mount in front of the handle.

The nice thing about this handle is that it can trigger your recording via a red start / stop button on top of the handle. Of course you need a cable between the Kondor Blue universal grip and your camera to be able to access this function.

Price and availability

The Kondor Blue Canon EOS R5 / R6 full cages are currently in the pre-order phase. The full cage costs $ 125 and is $ 199 with the top handle.

A larger battery handle cage will also be available for $ 149 and $ 225 with the top handle.
