Motion Analysis Launches ‘Basix Go’

Motion Analysis Corporation has released BaSix Go, an innovative, lightweight and easy-to-use motion capture software optimized for the animation industry that will be presented on September 21st during a virtual live launch.

The lightweight software allows users to select an animated character, equip active BaSix markers (which will replace a mocap suit), and then stream live animation data directly to key animation packages – all in less than 60 seconds.

"BaSix Go simplifies and speeds up the animation and previz process," said Lucy Keighley, global vice president of sales for Motion Analysis. "The system is quick to set up and calibrate, and the software is extremely easy to learn and use."

The main features include:

  • A simple, intuitive user interface
  • Ability to immerse subjects within minutes
  • Only requires the use of six active BaSix markers per subject
  • A single active BaSix marker can be used to track a prop
  • Compatible with all major animation packages including Maya, Motion Builder, Unreal, and Unity
  • FBX skinning is supported

Integration with BaSix markers:

BaSix Go is available as an annual license and can be integrated into the suitable full-body active marker system from Motion Analysis, which comprises six active markers that can be easily secured with comfortable gloves, a visor, a belt and ankle strap.

The system can be seen in action at the live virtual launch demo on September 21, where Motion Analysis will host the official launch of BaSix Go, which will be streamed live by customer Centroid Motion Capture's new UK motion capture facility.
