Nickelodeon Reveals New ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ CG Animated Series

Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios have just announced the name and logo of their brand new animated science fiction adventure series Star Trek: Prodigy, which follows a group of lawless teenagers who discover a dilapidated Starfleet ship, seeking adventure and redemption. The series was developed by Emmy laureates Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters and Ninjago) and supervised by Ramsey Naito, EVP, animation production and development, Nickelodeon. The title and logo were just revealed during the Star Trek Universe panel at Comic-Con @ Home.

The CG animated series is scheduled to debut exclusively on Nickelodeon in 2021 and marks a continuous expansion of the Star Trek universe. It is the first series in the ViacomCBS Star Trek franchise aimed at the younger audience of Nickelodeon. The Star Trek universe on CBS All Access currently includes the original Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Discovery series, the adult series Star Trek: Lower Decks, the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and the development of a Section 31-based series with Michelle Yeoh.

The series will be from CBS & # 39; Eye Animation Productions, the new animation arm from CBS Television Studios. Secret hiding place; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth will act as executive producers alongside Kevin and Dan Hageman. Aaron Baiers will act as a co-executive producer.
