The staff of the animation institute of the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg used the time of closure to develop a comprehensive online offer for students and the community. This means that part of the curriculum is made available online by the animation institute. In addition, they developed the highlights of the FMX 1994-2020 as a replacement for the FMX conference for animation, effects, games and immersive media, which had to be canceled for 2020. They are featured regularly from early May to December 31, 2020, looking at the history, present and future of the internationally renowned event.
Animation institute online
Parts of the courses at the animation institute of the Film Academy will take place online in the summer semester 2020. But not only the students benefit from this new offer. The animation institute will open some of the teaching modules and thus offer the interested public – be it the community, potential students or schoolchildren – the opportunity to take part in lessons and to get to know the lessons at the animation institute.
On April 20, the teaching module Myselfs Online Animation Mentoring starts exclusively on the recently launched website of Animationsinstitut www.animationsinstitut.de. In the program, which contains 26 successive teaching units, the virtual mentor guides me through the entire process of realizing an animated film from the first idea to the finished project using short animated films.
After the program started on April 20 with Lesson One, Myself's online animation mentoring will continue on a regular basis. Each lesson ends with a task for the participants that can only be done with pen and paper. The participants can then send their tasks to me@animationsinstitut.de and receive a short feedback from me.
Restart the animation institute website
The online animation mentoring from Myself is just one of the highlights on the new website of Animationsinstitut www.animationsinstitut.de. All important information about the institute can be found here. H. Study programs and application process. In addition, students, alumni, their projects and film making-ofs are regularly presented in the newly designed blog area. Animationsinstitut often presents student projects on the Internet for the first time under the name Online World Premiere. The first project can already be announced – On Your Way (directed by Thomas Sali, producer: Eric Sonnenburg).
