Hello everybody! I wanted to share with you guys how I made this smoky VFX
It's a pretty simple geo, with texture scrolling.
Scale over time and a dissolve will make it seem like it's dying out towards the end.
Geo: simple tube shape with apex alpha:
Smoke texture: Flame painter is a good place to start! but usually I repaint most of it because it's often a little too realistic or loud
Material setup: The dynamic parameter is to control the random UV offset which gives a slightly more random look to any geo that appears. The random speed on the UV pan also gives it a nice random "spin" as the UV pan swivels slightly to the right.
