Would you like to learn the basics of screenwriting in a 10 week course?
Do you have a great idea for a movie that burns within you? Are you interested in a career as a film writer in Hollywood? Well, the non-profit Real Ideas Studio is organizing a 10 week scriptwriting course to help you get your ideas off the ground.
And you will really be teaching the course.
For those of you who don't know, I am a blacklisted writer who produced and sold a film and selected several film and television ideas. I've teamed up with Real Ideas Studio to help them raise money for their educational programs. They are a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization seeking to redefine “real world experiences” as global collaboration through cultural immersion in supervised creative arts programs. Their flagship program is a hands-on trip to the Cannes Film Festival, where students write, shoot, edit, and show on-site short films related to the festival while attending premieres and other events.
The aim of this course is to learn the essential elements of screenwriting. This includes story, characterization, dramatic structure, cinematic language and dialogue. I will also coach writers through the first draft of their scripts.
At the end of the 10 weeks you should have a feature film written. And I'll be there every step of the way to provide feedback and ideas for stories.
