Netflix's critically acclaimed episodic fantasy adventure series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance from The Jim Henson Company will NOT return for season two despite winning the Outstanding Children’s Program at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony on Saturday 2020. Today the streaming giant announced the cancellation of the series.

The episodic fantasy adventure was a sequel to Jim Henson's 1982 epic fantasy film The Dark Crystal, and a continuation of exploring the world of Thra, finding three Gelfings, and fighting to unite their clans against the tyrannical Skeksis. The series premiered on Netflix in August 2019 with great success.

As reported by DeadlineExecutive Producer Lisa Henson commented, “We can confirm that there will be no additional season of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. We know fans are excited to see how this chapter of the The Dark Crystal saga ends, and we'll look for ways to tell that story in the future. "

Small consolation for fans who long to see the next chapter and learn the future of Thra.
