How much do we know about the anatomy of women? Well, it turns out, not as much as we thought. This documentary that explores the theme of femininity will make you take a lot of notes!
"The Dilemma of Desire" is a magnetic, powerful and rebellious documentary that follows four women who try to celebrate female sexual pleasure and destroy myths surrounding the female body. Director: Maria Finitzo and Executive: Oscar winner
The documentary filmmaker Barbara Kopple cannot help but become an ode to femininity.
At the center of this film is the conceptual artist Sophia Wallace, who created “Cliteracy” in 2012, a movement that praises the female sexual organ, the clitoris. Sophia Wallace's work correlates perfectly with the experiences of other women interviewed in this film. They all shed light on gender politics, the misrepresentation and taboo on women's sexual pleasure, the internalized shame of female bodies and talk about how to do beautiful things that say something about culture.
With the things women go through every day including sexual assault, harassment, sexualization, but looking down when they act sexy, thoughts about how much easier it would be to be a man – "The Dilemma of Desire" is empowerment and makes anyone who identifies as a woman excited to be one.
