An attempt is made to combine both types of emitters. Looks promising. I think the next steps will be to implement a module that is similar to the speed of Shuriken over its lifetime. I don't have a lot of options to get the particles rotating in the moment (other than faking them with the noise).
I also want to enter gradients for some parameters like color over lifetime (right now it's just a star and end color). I'll see if I just send the gradient keys for each parameter and sample the gradients in the shader, or if I bake them all to one texture where each gradient parameter is a line in the texture and only try that texture once.
