To Be or Not to Be: A New ‘Alien’ Movie

There has been a lot of talk lately about a new alien movie, everything mixed up. Audiences are divided: some want a completion of the trilogy that started with Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, and others say they want a complete makeover. Creator and original director Ridley Scott recently said, “We have come down a path to reinvent the wheel with Prometheus and Covenant. Whether or not we get back to it right away is doubtful because Prometheus awakened it very well. But you ask basic questions like, "Has the alien itself, the facehugger, the chestburster, they're all out of steam?" Do you have to rethink the whole damn thing and just use the word franchise? "That is always the basic question." It seems like a new alien movie is on the way, but maybe not as a sequel to everything we've seen so far.

In one [n L.A. Times article From the beginning of this year, Scott expressed that he wanted to rewind back into the past and focus on how the xenomorphic egg was formed. "I still think Alien has a lot of miles but I think you need to re-develop now," he said. “What I always thought when I did it, the first, why would a creature like this be made and why it was in some kind of warship that I always thought was a load of these eggs. What was the purpose of the vehicle and what was the purpose of the eggs? That's the question – who, why, and for what purpose is the next idea I guess. "

The latest working title of the mysterious new film is said to be Alien: Awakening, linking the prequel trilogy to the events of the 1979 Alien. It wouldn't be a direct sequel to Alien: Covenant, but it would fill the gap nonetheless. Scott goes on to reveal, "Ripley is obviously going to be someone's daughter. We're coming in from the back end. The time constraints on the time between this movie where we leave David on our way to this colony are likely two movies you're not even into Consider. "So it seems he's still using characters from the prequels, but only time will tell. Scott is notorious for changing his mind.

Disney's 2019 acquisition of Fox raised doubts that there would ever be an alien franchise installment again, but now it seems like a big possibility. Who wouldn't want a Queen Xenomorph or Princess Facehugger plush toy? They would fit right next to Jasmine and Mulan.
