‘Umbrella Academy’ Renewed by Netflix for Season 3

Netflix just renewed its successful dysfunctional superhero family adventure series. The Umbrella Academyfor a third season. Returning cast members include Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore.

Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon) returns as showrunner and executive producer; Jeff F. King (EP / D), Mike Richardson (EP), Keith Goldberg (EP), Jesse McKeown (EP), Gerard Way (Co-EP) and Gabriel Bá (Co-EP) join Blackman as executive producers of the third season. EP).

Like the first two seasons, the third season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and will be produced for Netflix by UCP, a division of the Universal Studio Group. Production will begin next February in Toronto, Canada.

The science fiction action series is based on Eisner award winning comics and graphic novels of the same name created and written by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.

In season two, which premiered on July 31st to prevent the apocalypse that wipes out the entire planet, the seven Hargreeves children accidentally cause World War III. To avert another end of the world, Number Five (Gallagher) goes back in time to stop the Soviets from launching a nuclear strike on America. To make matters worse, during his time jump towards the end of season one, to save his siblings, he accidentally scattered them around Dallas, Texas, each at a different time between 1960 and 1963. Unknown to him, around the world and his Saving family and then safely returning to the present timeline is all about President Kennedy's fateful upcoming visit to Dallas.
