Via Netflix:
Beginning in the early 11th century, "Vikings: Valhalla" records the legendary adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived: Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter, Harald Hardrada and the Norman King William the Conqueror. These men and women will pave a way as they struggle to survive in the ever-changing and evolving world.
Corlett will portray Leif Eriksson. Leif is a Greenlander who grew up on the edge of the known world. Leif comes from a close-knit family steeped in ancient pagan beliefs. Leif is an intrepid sailor and is physically tough. It is the show's entry into a Viking world in the midst of violent change. Gustavsson Freydis will play Eriksdotter, an extremely pagan, fiery and idiosyncratic believer in the "old gods". Like her brother Leif, she reaches Kattegat as an outsider, but becomes an inspiration for the old ways.

The character is described as a wise, accomplished, and ruthless leader who keeps his friends and enemies closer. The king's ambitions will shape the course of history in the 11th century and make him a defining figure of the Viking Age. Jóhannesson will portray Olaf Haraldson, Harald's ambitious older half-brother. The character is a strict and unforgiving Viking as well as an Old Testament Christian. Berlin plays Emma from Normandy, a politically smart member of the Norman court and one of the richest women in Europe.
Oaks and Henderson will portray Earl Godwin and Jarl Haakon respectively. Earl is described as "the ultimate survivor" and the cunning chief adviser to the King of England, who was born on the political fringes. Jarl Haakon is a great warrior and tolerant leader who rules the Kattegat with a steady hand. Despite being pagan, she managed to keep Kattegat open to all faiths in a challenging time. She becomes a powerful mentor to Freydis, drawn to her wisdom.
